Segment One:

Aaron Manheimer, NASM-CPT, PES-Owner/Wattage PT talks with Dr. Nik Verma from Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush about preparing players for this demanding sport [Sevens] and how they differ from other athletes, performance enhancement, injury prevention and returning to play post-rehab.

Aaron Manheimer played rugby professionally in Europe where he gained invaluable knowledge and experience training with world-class fitness instructors. Aaron qualified as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Through working with fellow teammates during his 14-year rugby career, Aaron gained both empirical and intuitive knowledge of the high performance athlete’s optimal conditioning needs.

He is the Strength Coach for the Chicago Lions Rugby Football Club. Besides working with professional football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, and hockey players and olympic figure skaters, he has also done extensive work with professional dancers. Aaron tailors every workout to the specific needs of his clients, taking into account their unique strengths and limitations. A well-rounded individual, Aaron holds a BA in International Studies and is fluent in Spanish.

Liz Roche, Mind Body Director of Midtown Athletic Club-Oak Park discusses Pilates for injury prevention and sports performance; how athletes at all levels as well as men can benefit from incorporating Pilates into their workout program.
